Anthony Jordan MPA, CADC II, CRM holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science with a Minor in Administration of Justice, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Portland State University. He is currently the Addiction Services Manager for Multnomah County Mental Health and Addiction Services Division. He has over 20-years working in the field of addiction. He is a member of the Governor’s Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission. He was a Board Member at the Addiction Counselor Certification Board of Oregon and the Miracles Club.
Anthony has dedicated his life to improving the lives of Black people by fighting against injustices, disparities, and educating audiences on the impact of historical trauma has had on the Black experience. He recently launched Agape Training and Consultant that will focus on trainings to address historical trauma, white privilege, and improving relations. In addition, he will be working with organizations in recruiting, retention, and improving race relation within their organization.
A skilled presenter and facilitator, Jacob combines his years of activism and education to help lead courageous conversation designed to focus on concrete action white people can take to disrupt racism, change behaviors and increase tolerance for discomfort, which is a cornerstone concept of his work.
Focusing on the head (intellectual curiosity), heart (emotional work) and hands (action), Jacob's work is intended for white people who are ready to learn more about the institutions of white supremacy in the United States and take action towards healing ourselves and our community. Jacob is the author of a blog about fighting racism, which contains tools for white people engaging in anti-racism work.
With 20 years of social service leadership and management with Multnomah County, Jacob established the Anti-Racism Leadership Group, a working group for white managers and supervisors to explore institutional biasses and confront racism in the workplace. He is also an administrator with a local Anti-Patriarchy group and a member of the Equity committee at Multnomah County. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Santa Cruz and a Project Management certification.
